Double security in the cloud: DRACOON cooperates with KeyIdentity

DRACOON, an enterprise file sharing expert and leader in the German-speaking market, is partnering with KeyIdentity, a leading provider of open source based and highly scalable, easy-to-use identity and access management (IAM) solutions.

With its multi-factor authentication solution (MFA) LinOTP, KeyIdentity offers the highest level of security for digital logins and transactions, making it the only German MFA provider to be included in the “Gartner Market Guide for User Authentication 2017”. The solution is characterized by its ease of use and flexibility in using authentication tokens. This allows users to select the model that suits them best from any token type available on the market, regardless of the manufacturer. In addition, the MFA solution can be integrated into any existing IT infrastructure and is up and running within a day, rather than within the weeks it takes competitors to set up. At the same time, KeyIdentity LinOTP quickly scales from one to thousands of users.

Partnering with KeyIdentity, DRACOON provides its users with a more secure access to its enterprise file sharing solution. KeyIdentity’s multi-factor authentication solution provides an additional security factor that safeguards digital logins and state-of-the-art transactions. When logging in via username and password, the authorized user automatically receives a push message on his smartphone and only has to confirm it by clicking on “OK” to finish the login. Especially in countries with particularly high safety requirements, this combination offers secure identification and special protection at all times.

At the same time, the usual procedures for using the enterprise file sharing solution DRACOON are not interrupted: Users of the data exchange solution can flexibly benefit from having access to their data at any time and can easily upload, securely share, or edit files on the go. User management relieves the burden on the IT department in the long term and, thanks to the fine-grained rights system, creates the possibility of securely integrating external partners and guaranteeing effective collaboration without any significant loss of time. Maximum security is provided by end-to-end encryption, which occurs on the device, during transmission and also on the server.

Both solutions offer certified “Security made in Germany”, which meets the highest security standards according to German law. KeyIdentity’s MFA solutions ensure transaction and data security, enabling better implementation of international regulations such as the EU GDPR, the EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2) or the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). DRACOON is one of the first German solutions to meet all the requirements of the EU GDPR and provides the ideal platform for secure data exchange in companies.

Marc Schieder, CIO of DRACOON, comments very positively on the cooperation: “Together we want to shape the future of the secure cloud in Germany. Security from the cloud should feel as natural as ‘electricity from the power outlet’, without the user having to worry about any risks,” Schieder continues.

Dr. Amir Alsbih, CEO of KeyIdentity adds: “In times of advancing digitalization, passwords alone are no longer enough to protect digital logins and transactions. We are pleased to announce that a leading provider such as DRACOON has chosen to further secure data exchange in the cloud through our MFA solutions. ”
